Weekly Reading Response #1

NAME:Paloma DATE:January 29th.
TITLE:Liar TIME:?HOURS:?
AUTHOR:Justine Larbalestier
TOTAL PAGES THIS WEEK:40 [I started late]

Question 1: 15. Make up a motto that one of the characters seems to live by. How and why does this fit the character?

Response 1: "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time."
This quote fits very well I think. Micah is a compulsive liar. She doesn't stop. Her whole life is told in lies. She is flat chested, wears no make up and no jewelry, so the first day of freshman year, she is mistaken for a boy. She lies and said she is. She is tangled in her lies pretending to be a boy. Everything she tells everyone is a lie, yet she is completely trusted.
Then in the book it takes you to her senior year. They all know that she is now a girl and they all know that she is a liar. But she continues with her lies. It really does bother me.

Question 2: 19. What in the book upsets you or bothers you? Why?
Response 2: First of all it bothers me, everything that Micah lies about. It's just something I don't really like hearing in the book.
Another thing that bothers me is that the book is very confusing. Because it will be talking about a scene, or an incident and then put a headline saying "After" &talking about a whole different scene. It's just that the scenes change like crazy and it's hard to understand what it's talking about, it's sort of messing with my head :|
